Haval Shirwan, PHD, is a Professor of Child Health, and Professor of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, at University of Missouri School of Medicine. The primary focus of Dr. Shirwan’s translational research program at is to develop safe and practical immunomodulatory approaches with applications to transplantation, autoimmunity, cancer, and infections. Recently his lab collaborated with Harvard and Georgia Tech to develop a novel diabetes treatment involving transplanting pancreas cells that produce insulin.
