Genetic Cause of Hearing Loss Discovered, May Lead to Cure for Deafness

While many people will lose their hearing due to a traumatic injury or other causes, some are unfortunately born without the ability to hear sound. In the United States, between two and three out of every 1,000 children are born with hearing loss in one or both ears. Now, a genetic breakthrough has revealed the cause of this condition.
